Elm Tree Tow

The Elm Tree Slope was typical of many early New Hampshire ski areas. It was first founded in the late 1930's as a hike up and ski down area run by the Keene Outing Club. Then, in 1940 a 500 foot rope tow was added to help skiers access the slope. After World War II, Elm Tree was taken over the Keene Recreation Office, and the tow was extended to 800 feet in length.
