Current Photos Introduction Green Mountain College operated a very small, but important ski area on campus from 1951 to 1979. This college area surprisingly was the site of many innovations and quite unique facilities despite its small size. Nearly 5000 students learned to ski area from the 1950's into the 1970's! Bill Jenkins, an inventor and ski pioneer in Vermont, started this area.
